French fashion house Louis Vuitton was founded in 1854 and has since become inherent with a luxury lifestyle. The label started by solely making travel trunks and cases, and by 1888 these featured the now-iconic brown check motif, with the monogrammed ‘LV’ symbol following suit with its patent in 1914.
